The sole purpose of jailbreaking PS3 game console is to run unsigned (non Sony approved) applications and other games on it.

Previously reported PSJaibreak.com works on a basis of Flash USB dongle and some code on it. The software code is freely downloadable from PSGroove’s Github Repository. But to actually jailbreak the PS3 game console, you’ll need either of the hardware – Teeny++ USB Development Board with Automatic Voltage Regulator (AVR) microcontroller built along with AT90USB key.

In short, you’ll need a small USB Development Board chip and microcontroller key (ATB90USB and others) to execute the open-source PSGroove code. Here’s a bit of snippet from PSGroove’s READ ME file.

This is the PSGroove, an open-source reimplementation of the psjailbreak exploit for AT90USB and related microcontrollers.

This software is not intended to enable piracy, and such features have been disabled. This software is intended to allow the execution of unsigned third-party apps and games on the PS3.

The PS3 hacking community celebrates its brave attempt to release an open-source version of PS3 jailbreak. However, this might not be up for mass adoption and application since it’s a DIY method. Sony PlayStation development team members would surely look into this open source code and come out with an update to patch this hole. Yes, the cat and mouse chase between Sony and PS3 hackers has begun.

As well as admitting a strong personal fondness for Princess Diana – “I really liked her and, of course, was as big a sucker for a beautiful princess as the next man; but I was wary too” – Blair saw her as encapsulating the political sea change that swept the country in 1997: “Whatever New Labour had in part,” Blair writes, “she had in whole.”

But Diana was, writes Blair, “an unpredictable meteor” who burst into the royal family’s “predictable and highly regulated ecosystem”. But it was Diana’s relationship with Dodi Fayed that concerned Blair. The last time they met was in July. “It had not been all that easy,” he writes. During a private walk in the grounds of Chequers Blair told Diana that he felt her relationship with Fayed “was a problem”.

“This was not for the obvious reasons, which would have made some frown on him; his nationality, religion or background don’t matter a hoot to me. I had never met him … so if you ask me, well, spit it out, what was wrong, I couldn’t frankly say, but I felt uneasy,” he writes.

Diana didn’t like Blair’s interference – “I could feel the wilful side of her bridling” – but by the end of the conversation they were again on a “warm and friendly” footing.

Despite their personal relationship, Blair admits that from the moment he was told of her death, he was “trying to work out how it should play”.

“I know that sounds callous,” he reveals. “I was genuinely in grief … but I also knew that this was going to be a major national, in fact global, event like no other … I had to work out how it would work out.”

Blair is candid about the tension of the days immediately following Diana’s death: “Throughout, we were walking a tightrope, thinner and more frayed by the day, between organising everything to go well and ‘cashing in’ or exploiting.”

He admits that the now-famous phrase he used the next day, “the people’s princess” now seems like something from “another age. And corny. And over the top. But at the time, it felt natural.”

Despite the high drama of Diana’s death, however – and a poll showing an “absurd rating of 93% approval” – Blair insists he never lost sight of the fact that there were more important challenges on the horizon.

“I had, at least, the sense to know … that the tests of achievement for a prime minister and a government were rather different,” he writes.

And now it has also led to an animal rights group offering a bounty for the arrest of the people behind it.

People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals has offered a reward for information leading to the capture and arrest of the people behind what it calls a “heinous act” of cruelty.

“Animal abusers are cowards,” PETA Manager Martin Mersereau said in a news release announcing the $2,000 reward. “They take their issues out on the most defenseless beings available to them.”

In the video, a girl in a red hooded sweatshirt is seen throwing at least six puppies into a fast-moving river.

She appears to speak Croatian, while repeatedly picking live animals from a bucket and throwing the squealing puppies into the water. It’s not clear what eventually happened to them.

CNN could not independently verify the authenticity of the video.

The tape was originally posted on YouTube, but was quickly pulled down. It is still widely available online and has gone viral, with sites such as LiveLeak.com registering more than 1.3 million views of the footage.

Web users have banded together on sites like 4chan.org to help identify the woman and the off-camera man who filmed it.

PETA says that clues in the video and the original post indicate that it may have been filmed near the Vrbas River in Bosnia-Herzegovina.

A facebook page dedicated to helping track them down had more than 7,000 people sign up since the video was posted Monday.

Users of the 4chan.org site have been in the news recently for identifying the person behind a similar incident involving a British woman caught on a security camera throwing a cat in a trash can last week.

Also this week, Alaska’s most famous birth control eschewer, Bristol Palin, told People magazine how excited she was to be joining Dancing with the Stars.

“I see this as something that’s fun and that’s positive and I’m going to be able to show my work ethic to people out there.”

Bristol’s mother, Aimee Semple McFacebook, had thrown her support behind Murkowski’s opponent, and cited his position on abortion – really, really against it – as the reason.

So, here’s Alaska’s position as of today: Unwed, pregnant teenagers getting abortions? Bad. Unwed pregnant teenagers doing the Cha-cha-cha? Good.Got it.

The Republicans do have a jobs plan. And it’s all babysitters.

But here’s the part where I get confused. The pressure group behind Alaska’s new parental notification law said it was a good idea because

This is a crazy lie, of course. While there are notification laws in 34 states, there’s a study from exactly one  that ever even tried to connect them to an increase in “responsible behavior rates.” Whatever the fuck that that could possibly mean.)

Let’s say this nonsense statement of tricked-out casuistry and wishful thinking could possibly be true. And let’s say Alaska’s voters had a compelling interest in making sure that other people’s children either acted right or carried their unwanted grandchildren to term, under penalty of law. Let’s say that was true too.

Rather than discourage teenage sex with a law against abortion, why not discourage it with a law against Dancing with the Stars?

Isn’t the Palin family sort of profiting from Bristol’s irresponsibility? Wouldn’t it send a clearer message to teens if she wasn’t on TV?

Listen, obviously I don’t think that’s going to happen. There’s money involved, and Sarah and Todd Palin would kill anyone, including each other, for a free meal at Outback. And obviously, the new Alaska parental notification law doesn’t have anything to do with discouraging anything; it was just a sweetener to get Jesus freaks to the polls.

(It’s not just unconstitutional; it’s actually demented. You know which teenage girls don’t need a note from their parents to get an abortion? The married ones. Because then, clearly, their parents don’t own them anymore; their husbands do. I swear I’m not making that up.)

This was never really about “life.” Sarah Palin had a hard-on for Lisa Murkowski over some personal slight so ancient and trivial it makes Achilles’ snit fit about Briseis look like good government. And the way Sarah Palin fixes you, in a close election in Alaska, is by saying you’re soft on abortion. She said the mayor of Wasilla was pro-life and beat him with 616 votes. Not a margin of 616 votes. 616 votes was what she got, total.

To be an anti-abortion mayor.

Why shouldn’t she use the same trick to take down Lisa Murkowski? Couldn’t happen to a nicer person. I can’t even pretend to feel sorry for Lisa Murkowski.

But I do feel sorry for all the other women in Alaska.

The results suggest that a buildup of that chemical, called glutamate, may play a role in the mechanism of migraines.

“This is the first time we have been able to peer into the genomes of many thousands of people and find genetic clues to understand common migraine,” said Aarno Palotie, chair of the international headache genetics consortium at the Wellcome Trust Sanger Institute in Britain, which led the study.

Migraine affects around one in six women and one in 12 men, and has been estimated to be the most expensive brain disorder to society in the European Union and the United States.

Not only is migraine painful, it also can be disabling and is often a life-long condition. The World Health Organization ranks it 19th among all causes of “years lived with disability,” and family life, social life and work capacity are negatively affected in almost all migraine sufferers.

Global sales of drugs to treat migraine were around $2.6 billion in 2009, according to analysts at Deutsche Bank.

Zomig and Pfizer’s Relpax are among leading medicines currently on the market for migraine, but the exact causes of the condition remain unknown.

In a study published in the journal Nature on Sunday, Palotie’s team said the particular migraine risk DNA variant they had identified was on chromosome 8 between two genes known as PGCP and MTDH/AEG-1.

Their research showed that it appears to regulate levels of glutamate, a chemical known as a neurotransmitter which transports messages between nerve cells in the brain.

It does this by altering the activity of MTDH/AEG-1 in cells, which regulates the activity of the EAAT2 gene — a protein responsible for clearing glutamate from brain synapses.

Previous research has found links between EAAT2 and other neurological diseases, including epilepsy, schizophrenia and various mood and anxiety disorders.

“Until now, no genetic link has been identified to suggest that glutamate accumulation in the brain could play a role in common migraine,” Christian Kubisch of University of Ulm in Germany, who also worked on the study, said in a statement.

“This research opens the door for new studies to look in depth at the biology of the disease and how this alteration in particular may exert its effect.”

The scientists said further research would be needed into the DNA variant, and into its effect on the genes around it, to find out more about how migraines occur. Further work was also needed to search for other possible genetic links, they said.

The subsequent 48 hours have been extraordinary, including one of the most surreal sessions of Test cricket ever played; but while there is an understandable desire for swift resolution, the complexity of the case and the need to get any punishments absolutely spot on means that the ICC must take its time here.

We knew the summer was going to belong to Mohammad Amir and Mohammad Asif, but we thought it was for what they did with the ball, not their front foot. If they did bowl deliberate no-balls – and the evidence looks horrible, particularly the picture of Salman Butt starting at the bowler rather than the batsman – it is obvious that they must be dealt with severely, yet the widespread calls for life bans are surely, at this stage, over the top. Given the natural disaster currently affecting Pakistan, it should not be too difficult for us to get some perspective.

If it only amounts to a few no-balls – and, yes, that if is bigger than one of the Spin’s special midnight feasts – the ICC must make the punishment fit the crime with bans of maybe one to two years. Yet before we even rush to that judgement, it is important to clarify the exact circumstances behind any supposed spot-fixing. Difficult as it is, given their incredible backstory, we must judge this case in isolation rather than as yet another example of what many feel is institutionalised corruption within Pakistan cricket. For example, when the former England footballer Matt Le Tissier recently admitted to spot-fixing during his playing days, nobody demonised him. In fact, it was all seen as a bit of a laugh. We might say that is the difference between football and cricket. More probably, it is the difference between how we judge England and Pakistan.

Perhaps the desire for smallish bans simply stems from a need to see Amir again. The thought that his career is over is far too heartbreaking to even consider. It is his involvement that has made this case so sickening and sad. We tend to reach for hyperbole at times like these, but Amir really is comparable with any 18-year-old bowler in the history of the game. And those who would easily dismiss him as a greedy deviant should recall his overwhelming joy at taking a Lord’s five-for on Friday, when he bent down to kiss the turf. The News of the World described it as “a kiss of betrayal”, but it wasn’t: it was the kiss of a kid who adores the game. He may have done something gravely wrong; if so, we must hope the ICC does not compound it with a hasty and excessive punishment.
