Gay-remark-could-cost-Rachel-Maddow--50-million

Gay remark could cost Rachel Maddow 50 million

The official website for Christian rap-metal band Junkyard Prophet says that lead singer and drummer Bradlee Dean is hard, funky, loud and fast. Next time the webmaster logs on, he might want to add lawsuit-happy, pissed off and weary of gays.

In addition to performing with Junkyard Prophet, Dean also runs the religious ministry You Can Run But You Cannot Hide International. His latest undertaking, however, involves drumming up a lawsuit against MSNBC anchor Rachel Maddow. Dean is seeking upwards of $50 million in damages, claiming that remarks made last year by Maddow were fictitious and defaming.

On an August 2010 broadcast, Maddow played a clip of Dean speaking on an AM radio program. Before he called homosexuality an “abomination” in the soundbyte, the metal head said that Muslim nations that execute gays were more moral than American Christians.

“Muslims are calling for the executions of homosexuals in America,” said Dean. “This just shows you they themselves are upholding the laws that are even in the Bible of the Judeo-Christian God, but they seem to be more moral than even the American Christians do, because these people are livid about enforcing their laws.”

Then, relayed Maddow, Dean mentioned that the average gay person molests over 100 people “before they’re found out.”

Dean now says that Maddow painted a not-so-pretty picture of the gay-hating, right wing, head banging, conservative preacher, rapper, drummer and homophobe, and is going after her for ruining his “fine reputation.”

“MSNBC’s Rachel Maddow and others seized on and accused Dean on her show of supporting the killing of homosexuals, as is the practice in some radical Islamic countries. This seriously has harmed Dean and the ministry, who pride themselves on respect and love for all people,” writes Dean’s attorney in a rebuttal posted on World New Daily.

World Net Daily also published a response from commentator Larry Klayman this week, in which he says Maddow and other homosexuals “seek to conveniently destroy Michele Bachmann and Bradlee in one fell swoop” in order “for gay activists to take over the country,” at which point “the gay agenda will then have free reign to impose its lifestyle on our youth.”

In addition to priding themselves on respect and love for all people, the ministry of You Can Run But You Cannot Hide International is also delighted to boast that they have received adoration from Republican presidential candidate Michele Bachmann. Now the ministry is saying that the liberal media’s attack on Dean is an attempt to squash Bachmann’s campaign, who they say is the subject of “fear and despise” from the left.

Dean says that Maddow neglected to read the disclaimer on his ministry’s website in which he emphasized that he never called for the execution of homosexuals. Maddow did, however, read the disclaimer on the air. Since then, Dean has gone on the record to equate gays to criminals. A lot.

Responding to the defamation charge, MSNBC responds that the suit is “baseless” and that they stand by their reporting.

Dean Bradlee’s ministry claims to have reached more than 500,000 young people and the Junkyard Prophet music videos have been viewed over 100 million times. As his band’s website puts it, “Bradlee has pretty much rocked this nation.”

Dean had been rocking the nation as the radio host of AM 1280 The Patriot. Until, that is, he was fired after likening President Obama to Osama bin Laden following the broadcast of a six minute song making fun of African Americans.
